JDRF, Ray Allen, USA Today Insert.

Larry headed down to Florida recently with JDRF to photograph basketball star Ray Allen and his family in their Miami home. The photos were then laid out in an insert for USA Today to raise awareness to Type 1 Diabetes. Allens wife, Shannon is a member of the JDRF Board of Directors and their son Walker is living with Type 1 Diabetes.

The Camera 1 crew isn’t always stuck in Midtown Manhattan. Recently Larry headed down to Miami to photograph Basketball star Ray Allen for a JDRF insert in USA Today.

Following a lecture regarding Religion members of various Clergies and members of New York’s Union League Club meed for some drinks and the chance to discuss life in the library at the Union League Club headquarters.

Larry and Geoff headed down to the southern tip of Manhattan to photograph working shots of some attorneys at one of New York’s most prestigious law firms. Scoping out different locations throughout their office, more than a few scenarios were photographed using their employees and their spaces. Below are a couple of samples of what came out of the shoot.

Larry was in Washington DC recently with JDRF to photograph their annual conference on capital hill. Pictured below is JDRF President Jeffrey Brewer standing along side NASCAR superstar Trevor Baynes car. Bayne has been sponsored by JDRF for a few seasons to help spread the word about diabetes research in hopes to find a cure.

With August being a little bit of a slower time at Camera One, Patrick took he opportunity to hop over to London for a week to check out the 2012 Olympic Center and cover the BMX Racing test event. There are certain assignments that come through year after year, and though it might be the same thing, it is a completely new set of people and a completely new set of photos. The Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s Annual Commencement Ceremony is one of those assignments. Every year we are there and see a new set of faces and a new set of doctors. We go mainly to capture the posed photos on stage, but can’t pass up documenting the excitement around us as well.


Day Four; Hearing.

The final day of the JDRF 2011 Children’s Congress started off with visits to select Senators and Representatives and ended with a hearing in front of varying senators. On hand to plead for funds toward’s Diabetic research included Actor Kevin Kline who because active in JDRF when his son was diagnosed with diabetes.
