Snow in Central Park

While Central Park can offer a backdrop to some of the most beautiful images made in New York City it can also act a photographers worst enemy. Much of the time the natural beauty of the landscape acts an isolating barrier hiding the hustle and bustle of daily life behind stone walls and towering trees. However, the one thing that you can’t get away from are the thousands of other people that also flee to the park trying to get away from you! I took a stroll through the park after the most recent snow, having not opted for a crack of dawn visit on a Saturday, I was surrounded by the masses sledding, slipping and sliding all around me. The activity provided a never ending supply of photographic subjects for anyone willing to make some new friends but on this morning I was really only interested in making a photograph to showcase the landscape wrapped in its blanket of ice and snow. I decided the best way to remove all the people from mucking up my shots was to start by looking where they weren’t looking and going where they weren’t going. Up and Up.

Redesigned CEOMediaCoach.com

Recently we had Donatella Giacometti of CEOMediaCoach.com in the studio to refresh the photography on her website. The idea was to build the layout around the photography, so while Larry was shooting, Patrick was on the phone and back and forth via email with the web designer sending comps and test shots so that everything would be places in just the right places. In the end we ended up having to stretch the photo a little bit in Photoshop so that it would fit the layout perfectly and this was the end result.

Photographed in Camera 1′s Midtown New York City photo studio Donatella’s photos were just what she needed to finish the redesign of CEO Media Coach.

Winter in Westchester.

Patrick has begun to take a series of photos of his view of Bear Mountain as he waits for the Metro North in Westchester each morning. With the wide range of weather this winter, every morning has held a new sight. Below are a few examples of the sight to be seen.

Pauline’s Rocekette Wish

Geoff recently met up with 87 year-old Pauline Clark to photograph her fulfilling her lifelong dream of dancing with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall on Saturday, December 8. Pictured here with Rockette Lindsey Howe (black pants & black rockette t-shirt), Pauline became the oldest woman to dance with the Rockettes, a wish that was made possible by the partnership between Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale Senior Living.

Camera 1 photographer Geoff Hauschild was on hand to capture this image of Pauline Clark fulfilling her lifelong dream of dancing with the Rockettes at New York City’s Rockefeller Center.

JDRF, Ray Allen, USA Today Insert.

Larry headed down to Florida recently with JDRF to photograph basketball star Ray Allen and his family in their Miami home. The photos were then laid out in an insert for USA Today to raise awareness to Type 1 Diabetes. Allens wife, Shannon is a member of the JDRF Board of Directors and their son Walker is living with Type 1 Diabetes.

The Camera 1 crew isn’t always stuck in Midtown Manhattan. Recently Larry headed down to Miami to photograph Basketball star Ray Allen for a JDRF insert in USA Today.

Women on Wall Street

Larry headed over to the Marriott Marquis in the heart of Times Square recently to photograph the annual Women on Wall Street event. Sponsorered by Deutsche Bank, the WOWS conference began started in 1995 and at this point has grown to over 2,000 attendees. For more information head over to the Women in Business Website.

Recently Larry was contacted to photograph a corporate event down the street from Camera 1′s Midtown Manhattan studio at the Times Squares Marriott Marquis. The event was the annual Women on Wall Street Conference sponsored by Deutsche Bank, celebrating business women across the world.

While shooting photos of the new building at 11 Times Square, the Camera 1 crew set up a camera to capture a time-lapse of the scene with the sun setting into New Jersey. This animated gif cuts to the chase and shows the scene in 10 quick frames.
