Connor Fields securing his spot on Team USA

With August being a little bit of a slower time at Camera One, Patrick took he opportunity to hop over to London for a week to check out the 2012 Olympic Center and cover the BMX Racing test event. Pictured here is Team USA hopeful Nic Long riding an obstacle that didn’t work so well and will be taken out and redesigned for the 2012 games.

When he saw that the Action Sports Tour and Madison Square Garden were hosting a BMX contest in Times Square, Patrick took the opportunity to shoot the event as well as cover it for espn.com/action. Pictured here is BMXer Pat Casey, winner of the “Air in the Square.”

Patrick had the chance to shoot with Team USA rider Corben Sharrah. Although the selection process for the 2012 Olympics does not begin for another month, Corben is currently a favorite to take one of the three slots devoted to the Men’s BMX team. He’s having an amazing year as a rookie pro and if he keeps it up, has a shot at the Gold.

While out in Chula Vista, California covering the USA Cycling BMX Championships for espn.com/action Patrick caught this glimpse of the So Cal sunset as he was setting for for his next shot.

Patrick dodged his way between snow storms and made it out to Reno, NV for the American Bicycle Associations’s season opener last weekend. Above is a sample from the gallery posted on espn.com/action.

While at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Visa, California covering a UCI World Cup event, Patrick caught this photo of 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist and 2010 UCI World Champion Maris Strombergs from Latvia. Although Strombergs did not go on to win that evening, he did go on to claim the UCI World Cup title a few weeks later in France.

Along with shooting and working on the post production side of things at Camera 1, Patrick finds his way around the country to cover BMX Racing for espn.com/action. This portrait of 2008 Olympic Bronze Medalist and 2009 World Champion in BMX, Donny Robinson, ran along side an interview discussing his new line of Hyper Bikes which were recently released in over one thousand Walmart Stores around the country. You can find the interview here.
